The Defence Committee holds an evidence session examining implications of military involvement in Syria and the nature and capability of Daesh, the Syrian opposition and other external actors.

Purpose of the session

This is the next oral evidence session for the Committee’s inquiry into UK military operations in Syria and Iraq. The Committee seeks to examine:

  • The military and political implications of the UK’s military involvement in Syria in operations against Daesh
  • The nature and capability of Daesh and Syrian Opposition
  • The impact of other external actors engaged in the conflict
