Dr Julian Lewis, Defence Committee chairman, said:
"Given that both the Government and the BBC remain in denial about the folly of closing Caversham Park, weakening our links with our US counterparts and inflicting further cuts on Monitoring Service staff, the Defence Committee is putting them on notice that we will be conducting an annual review of the effectiveness - or lack of it – of BBC Monitoring in the future."
