Experts to present what EU trade talks mean for Wales

The Welsh Affairs Committee will take evidence from a panel of economic and trade experts as it explores the implications for Wales of the UK’s trade negotiations with the EU as well as those with non-EU states.

The next round of trade negotiations between the UK and the EU begins on 7 September in what is being billed as a critical period in the talks.
Likely areas of questioning
The Committee is likely to ask:
- how Wales will be affected if the UK traded on WTO terms;
- the priorities for Wales in the event of a trade deal being agreed; and
- the relative merits and opportunities of trade deals with non-EU countries for Wales.
