Communities and Local Government Committee: Chair nominations close

Nominations for Chair of the Communities and Local Government Committee closed at 5pm on Wednesday 10 June. Clive Betts is the sole candidate nominated and will therefore be elected as Chair. The full results of the elections for all committees will be announced on Thursday 18 June.
Clive Betts said:
"I am very pleased to have become Chair, once more, of the CLG Committee. The Committee did some excellent work in the last Parliament and held the Government to account on a number of important issues. I expect that, once it is elected, the new Committee will continue this. I also look forward to working with the new Ministerial team in the Department and hope that the relationship will be mutually beneficial."
