The Communities and Local Government Committee hears first-hand accounts of the state of adult social care in the UK from unpaid carers.

Purpose of the session

The session focuses on the effects of shrinking budgets and rising demand for social care on unpaid carers. The witnesses discuss the future of care in the UK and the impact of increased strain on both unpaid carers and those in care.

The Committee is also keen to hear about the support that unpaid carers currently receive and what measures exist to make sure they get adequate advice and support.
