The Communities and Local Government Committee hears from charities helping homeless people as part of its inquiry into homelessness, its causes and the effectiveness of work undertaken to address it.

Focus of the session

At its first evidence session of the inquiry, the Committee hears from charities helping homeless people. The session looks at the national picture of homelessness, the causes of homelessness (both personal circumstances and wider changes in society), rough sleeping, the work of local councils and the support available to help homeless people and those at risk of becoming homeless.
