The Communities and Local Government Committee invites members of the public to attend the event about the investigation into the future of supported housing and help inform the inquiry.

The big issue

More than 700,000 people live in supported housing accommodation in Great Britain. Many groups use supported housing, including older people with support needs, people at risk of homelessness or domestic abuse, vulnerable young people, ex-offenders and people with disabilities.

The UK Government has proposed reforms to the way supported housing is funded. The Communities and Local Government Committee has joined with the Work and Pensions Committee to investigate whether these reforms will protect tenants and improve the provision of supported housing in the future.

This event will be an opportunity for MPs to hear directly from tenants, carers and providers of supported housing in an informal setting.

At the event, we will be asking you about your experience of:

  • what works well and what changes you'd like to see
  • whether tenants receive the right level of support
  • what the Government's changes might mean for you
  • how provision can be improved

How can you help?

Are you someone who:

  • Lives, or has recently lived, in supported housing?
  • Provides care or support to tenants who live in the supported housing sector?

If so, we would be very keen for you to attend our event. Please send pass this information on to anyone you know who may be interested in attending.
