Housing for older people
This inquiry examines whether the housing on offer for this group of people is sufficiently available and suitable for their needs and, in doing so, considers how older people wish to live. In this inquiry, the Committee will take into account the context of significant housing shortages, rising numbers of older people and pressures on health and social care.
Monday's evidence session is likely to look at issues such as the housing options for older people, older people's housing preferences, and 'downsizing' or 'rightsizing' and the impact of this on the wider housing market. The session is also likely to look at areas such as housing and health and wellbeing, and alternative approaches to housing for older people such as community-based housing.
