Committee on Climate Change's 2015 progress report

The Energy and Climate Change Committee takes evidence on the Committee on Climate Change's (CCC) 2015 Progress Report, which was published to Parliament in June 2015. In it, the CCC sets out its views on the progress made towards meeting the UK's carbon budgets, and the further progress needed to meet future budgets and the UK's statutory 2050 target to reduce emissions by at least 80% from 1990 levels.

Purpose of session

The hearing examines a range of issues, including:

  • whether the UK is on track to meet the fourth carbon budget
  • public expenditure on meeting carbon budgets, the levy control framework and subsidies
  • progress in decarbonising the power sector
  • progress in decarbonising the buildings sector
