The Parliamentary Joint Committee on the Draft R&R Bill will this week take evidence from organisations who represent the interests of staff working in Parliament.

The Committee will hear from the Members and Peers Staff Association, the Trade Union Side and ParliAble – the Workplace Equality Network focussed on supporting disabled staff and Members.

The Committee will ask the witnesses a range of questions including:

  • Staff's priorities for R&R both in terms decant and when Parliament returns to the Palace of Westminster.
  • How well staff have been engaged with R&R so far and how best can staff be engaged with the programme.
  • How staff can be encouraged to engage with a programme that might outlive their own time working in Parliament.
  • Whether the R&R Sponsor Body include a member with the specific responsibility of representing staff

The evidence session will start at 10:00am on Wednesday 6 February in Committee Room 15. The witnesses giving evidence will be:

  • Georgina Kester, Chairman, Members' and Peers' Staff Association
  • Ken Gall, President, Trade Union Side
  • Sean House, Co-Chair, ParliAble
