Lords to question officials from DWP and Government Equalities Office

On Tuesday 7 July, the Select Committee on the Equality Act 2010 and Disability will hear from senior officials at two separate Government departments – the Government Equalities Office and the Department for Work and Pensions.

Witnesses

At 3.30pm the Committee will take oral evidence from:

  • Charles M Ramsden, Deputy Director, Equality Framework, Government Equalities Office
  • Tracey Kerr, Head of Legal Advisers, Government Equalities Office
  • Pat Russell, Head of the Office for Disability Issues, Department for Work and Pensions

The session will take place in Committee Room 4A, Palace of Westminster.

Possible questions

The questioning is likely to focus on the position of disabled people under the Equality Act 2010 as compared to the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, reasonable adjustment of premises, transport, enforcement of rights, and the Public Sector Equality Duty.
