On Tuesday 15 November, the Committee on the Long-Term Sustainability of the NHS takes evidence from the Chief Executives of Birmingham, Manchester and Sheffield NHS Trusts, as well as the Patients Association, Independent Age and the Royal College of GPs.

Areas of discussion
The Committee is investigating what changes are needed in the NHS to enable it to meet the challenge of the next 20 years and beyond. Questions in the sessions will cover:
- the long-term sustainability of the NHS and social care systems
- whether Sustainability and Transformation Plans will provide a solution to current problems in the NHS and
- whether the current model of primary care is still fit for treating modern healthcare needs.
