Questions the Committee is likely to ask include:

  • What steps could be taken to improve access to further and higher education for people living in coastal areas?
  • How can coastal areas do better at attracting and retaining high-quality teachers?
  • What support do these areas need to meet the skills requirements of their local economies?

Other issues the Committee is likely to discuss include the problems with education attainment at secondary level and the impact that low aspiration among young people in coastal communities is having on how they do at school and the jobs they do afterwards.
