In the penultimate session of its inquiry into social mobility in the transition from school to work, the House of Lords Select Committee on Social Mobility questions the Rt Hon Alan Milburn, Chair of the Social Mobility and Child Poverty Commission.

Areas of discussion

In the first session, the Committee examines the work of the Commission in monitoring the progress of government in improving social mobility and holding to account and challenging key institutions in areas such as further education and the professions in the United Kingdom.

In the second session, the Committee explores the policy implications of possible findings of its upcoming report with experts on social mobility in youth transitions.
