Science, Technology, Mathematics and Engineering (STEM) Education: 14-19 year olds

Four page POSTnote, autumn 2011

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education is a key part of the UK curriculum, It represents the point at which most people first encounter scientific ideas and frames their perception and understanding of science in adult life. The 14-19 age range begins with the first point at which pupils are able to select specific subjects and ends with the last part of compulsory education and the beginnings of voluntary education. This POSTnote will focus on the effectiveness of STEM education in the UK. For more information about this project, please contact Dr Chandrika Nath
