Office of the Executive

The Office of the Executive, headed by the Clerk and the Director General, exists to support the executive and drive forward strategic initiatives across the organisation.

The office contains key executive functions, including the private offices of the Clerk and the Director General (Operations), Communications Office, Corporate Resilience Team, General Election Planning team and the Diversity & Inclusion team.

Its key functions are to:

  • support the executive of the House of Commons
  • drive forward strategic initiatives
  • be a centre for executive decision making
  • provide, when necessary, a clear end station for lines of accountability
  • implement the organisation’s strategic priorities
