Cyber Security Month begins across Parliament

February will see a series of events organised as part of Parliament's Cyber Security month, all aimed at raising awareness of the importance of cyber security as an issue that people in Parliament need to address in their personal as well as their working lives.
Organised by the Parliamentary Digital Service, in collaboration with a number of external partners, Cyber Security Month is part of a wider series of initiatives planned for 2017, and is intended to help people across Parliament adopt and maintain secure behaviours in relation to cyber security.
Over the course of four all-day sessions, Members of both Houses, their staff, and those employed by both Houses will have the opportunity to brush up their existing knowledge and learn new skills. These sessions will feature both internal and external speakers, with a wide range of expertise relating to the topic of cyber security.
The following external organisations are partnering with Parliament during its Cyber Security Month:

- Digital Awareness UK
- Nettitude
- Machina Research
- National Cyber Security Centre
- Pen Test Partners
- Trend Micro
Topics that will be addressed as part of the sessions will include the current cyber threat landscape, the future of cyber security, and how to ensure your smartphone is secure. Along with insights from guest speakers, a series of drop-in 'cyber surgeries' will see the Parliamentary Digital Service offer their support and advice on a range of issues.
