House of Commons extends public access to its events venues

Members of the public can now hire the House of Commons' commercial events venues for private events.
The House of Commons has extended access to its commercial events venues which the public can use in the Palace of Westminster, one of the world's most iconic and instantly recognised buildings.
Members of the public are now able to hire venues in the House of Commons for private occasions such as wedding receptions, anniversaries and other special events.
These venues include the magnificent splendour of the Pugin Room, the grandeur of the historic Members' Dining Room, as well as the Terrace Pavilion with its access to the exclusive Commons Terrace alongside the River Thames. Previously only commercial or charity clients could book these venues when Parliament was not sitting.
Extending the types of events permitted in the House of Commons' commercial events venues will ensure more people can enjoy and engage with the unique and inspiring setting that is the Palace of Westminster, home to the UK Parliament. Any increase in revenue will go to helping to maintain the Palace of Westminster for future generations.
Alongside the increased opportunity for venue hire, the public will continue to be able to book on to a range of commercial tours of the Palace of Westminster, enjoy one of our commercial afternoon teas packages, or enjoy lunch or dinner in the principal dining rooms as part of our series of pop-up restaurant dining experiences.

- Wedding receptions can now be booked as standalone events rather than having to have a civil ceremony in one of our two licensed wedding venues beforehand, which was previously the case. For more information on weddings visit our website: www.parliament.uk/weddings
- Corporate clients can now book venues up until 3pm on Monday and all day on Thursday and Friday. Previously this was limited to times when the House of Commons was not sitting.
