Parliament's podcast series wins Bronze in the 2018 British Podcast Awards

The UK Parliament is delighted to have been awarded Bronze in the Best Branded Content category at the British Podcast Awards 2018, for the six-part podcast series – Parliament Explained.

Over the six episodes of the podcast, comedian and writer Meera Syal CBE guides listeners through the inner workings of the UK Parliament – what Parliament is, how Parliament scrutinises the work of the Government, and how people can get involved.

What does the podcast cover?

Meera is joined by parliamentarians Helen Jones MP, Chair of the House of Commons Petitions Committee, and Baroness Corston, Chair of the House of Lords Social Mobility Committee.

Staff from the House of Lords and the House of Commons, including Regional Outreach Officers, Clerks, Committee Specialists and Doorkeepers, also speak about the their roles and areas of expertise.  

Made in collaboration with Fresh Air Production, the podcast series is part of Parliament's wider efforts to engage people in the parliamentary process.
