Data protection policies

Our policies govern the way we handle personal data.

Please note that the House of Commons and the House of Lords are two separate controllers under data protection law. A controller is the main decision-maker in relation to the handling of any given personal data. Some of our policies apply to one House of Parliament, while others apply to both.

Please note that these policies cover the House of Commons and House of Lords Administrations. They do not cover Members of Parliament and Members of the House of Lords who, should they handle personal data, are separate controllers. Any queries about their handling of personal data should be directed to the relevant Member.
