Your data protection rights

Data protection legislation provides individuals with certain rights over the processing of their personal data. ‘Processing’ includes anything a controller might do with personal data, including collecting, storing, sharing or deleting it.

Your rights over your own personal data are as follows:

  • The right to be informed, which we fulfil via our privacy notices
  • The right to access
  • The right to rectification
  • The right to erasure
  • The right to restrict processing
  • The right to data portability
  • Rights in relation to automated decision-making and profiling

Where we are relying on your consent to process your personal data, you can also withdraw that consent or unsubscribe from our services by contacting us.

Which of these rights apply in each case will depend on our reasons for the collection and use of your information.

You can find out more about your data protection rights on the Information Commissioner’s Office website.

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, you should contact us with your request. You can also contact us to complain about our processing of your personal data.

Please note that Members of Parliament and Members of the House of Lords who handle personal data are separate controllers. Any queries about their handling of personal data, including rights requests, should be directed to the relevant Member.
