Petitions

Selected letter P

A petition is a formal written request sent in to Parliament by members of the public calling for some form of action by the Government. Paper petitions must be presented on the petitioners' behalf by an MP or member of the Lords. E-petitions can be submitted directly online by the public.

Petitions may also be used by groups or individuals who are affected by a Private Bill, under a different procedure.
