Prayers

Selected letter P

Prayers are read at the start of each day in both the House of Commons and House of Lords chambers. These follow the Christian faith and there is currently no multi-faith element. Attendance is voluntary.

In the House of Commons the term 'prayer' is also used to describe a type of Early Day Motion that is used to object to - or 'pray against' - a statutory instrument.
