Visitors to the Houses of Parliament can ask any questions about their visit, or the work of the House of Commons and House of Lords of the Visitor Assistants and information staff in Westminster Hall.
How do I find them?
Visitor Assistants are easily recognisable in their distinctive navy uniforms. All wear name badges which also indicate any other languages which they speak.
What can I ask about?
Visitor Assistants are there to help you to make the most of your visit, whatever its purpose. They can provide you with assistance and directions in getting to your designated venue and advise you what is available for you to do and see during your visit.
You can also ask them questions about the Parliamentary business of the day and about aspects of the work of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. If they are unable to answer your question immediately they can advise you as to where to go to find the answer.
Is there information I can take away with me?
All visitors are encouraged to take a copy of Parliament and You, a free booklet giving general information about visiting and Parliament’s work.
A selection of other publications about the work of the House of Commons and the House of Lords together with resources from the Education Service for students and teachers are also available. Please browse the copies on display and ask for any which you would like to take away.
Opening times
Visitor Assistants are available in Westminster Hall between 9am and 8pm when the House is sitting. These times will vary when the House is in recess.
