Midland Metro (Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Land Acquisition) Order 2020
The Midland Metro (Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Land Acquisition) Order 2020 was laid before Parliament on 8 July 2020
The Order confers further powers of compulsory acquisition on the West Midlands Combined Authority (“the Executive”) for the purpose of the works authorised by The Midland Metro (Wednesbury to Brierley Hill and Miscellaneous Amendments) Order 2005. Powers for compulsory acquisition under the 2005 Order expired in 2010.
Anyone who was directly and specially affected by the Order was entitled to submit a petition against it, either to the House of Commons or to the House of Lords (but not both). The deadline for submitting petitions to the House of Commons was 1 September 2020. The deadline for submitting petitions to the House of Lords was 28 July 2020. No petitions were received so the Order entered into force in September 2020.
