Force feeding investigation

Our groups found records relating to the Winson Green force reading in the collections of Birmingham Archives. 

This is an excerpt from a Special Meeting of the Visiting Committee of His Majesty's Prison, held on 28 September 1909 to investigate the force feeding which occurred at Winson Green Prison.  Here the committee are hearing evidence from suffragettes who had been force fed.
