Pasting the Proclamation poster

This photograph shows suffragettes from the Women's Freedom League (WFL) pasting a Proclamation on a board advertising Hackney Carriage Prices. The two women are Barbara Duval (doing the pasting) and Helen Fox, standing holding more copies of the Proclamation.

The location is New Scotland Yard, which in this period was in the Norman Shaw Buildings, now part of the Parliamentary Estate.

The Parliamentary Archives holds a copy of the Proclamation used in the Grille Incident, 28 October 1908.
