Astor on the drink trade 1924

This is a letter from Nancy Astor to John St Loe Strachey (editor of the 'Spectator' magazine) on the drink trade. She sends him 'examples of the way in which the Trade... have influenced M.P.'s'. Astor was a strong advocate of temperance. Prior to this, she made her maiden speech on this subject in 1920, and succeeded in having a private members' bill passed in 1923 restricting sale of alcohol to under 18s.
