Correspondence about the 1823 Gaols Act
Letter from Elisha de Hague, Norwich Town Clerk to John Rickman, the Clerk Assistant at the Table of the House of Commons. De Hague thanks Rickman for the Turnpike Road Bill, but requests the bill he had in fact asked for, that relating to the building, inspecting and regulating Gaols and Houses of Correction, as the Justices of the Peace are keen to see the Bill, which is likely to be become law in the next session, before finally deciding on the rebuilding of the new Gaol
