Publication of the Official Report

On 7 November 1940, the Commons sat in Church House because of fears that the Chamber might be hit by bombs while the House was sitting. London had endured 57 nights of bombardment, and a messenger had been killed taking Hansard copy to the printers. During that sitting, MPs discussed delays to publication and the safety of workers at the printworks in Southwark. You can read the full debate via the link on the right hand side of this page.
