France and Germany Star

This medal was instituted in May 1945 and awarded to forces who served on land, sea or air in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands or Germany between 6 June 1944 and 8 May 1945.

Awards included service during the Allied D-Day campaign, which was launched on 6 June 1944, and covers the service of forces active in this area until V-E Day.
