Frances Stevenson: Congres De La Paix I.D Card
The Frances Stevenson Papers, held in the Parliamentary Archives, hold some miscellaneous items that she had kept from her time in Paris working as part of the British delegation. One of the most evocative is her identification card for the headquarters of the Peace Conference at the Congres De La Paix. After the peace treaty was signed Lloyd George returned to Wales for some much-needed rest and recuperation. But for Stevenson, there was no such respite as she resumed her daily-duties in the familiar confines of Downing Street as the wheels of administration returned to a domestic footing.
