Baths and Washhouses further developments

The first baths in Sunderland were a success, and the Corporation went on to build additional baths and washhouses.  This excerpt from the minutes shows the purchase of a plot of land for baths at Hallgarth Square, Monkwearmouth.  This land was purchased from Sir Hedworth Williamson, who was one of the MPs for Sunderland.
