Getting your name back, Nosipho B. Ndaba

Poem by Nosipho B. Ndaba, Year 12

My name is who I am, it represents what my parents felt about me when I was born. It gives me a sense of belonging and direction and reminds me of my own history and my cultural history. My name foretells who I am to become as it is the 'compass' that is guiding me to my destination in life. My name is my pride and joy. It makes me feel as an exception to everybody else
