The depth of freedom, Alice Day
Poem by Alice Day, Year 8
The feeling of a hefty load of aching pain,
Hoisting up like a black horse belting away,
The sound of burnt black bones dispense from my mind,
I hear flittering, flittering butterflies and a soft soothing
voice like an angel, that lies beneath the depths,
the ice aching water soon began to change,
the drumming of my heart started to dim,
my lungs inflaming like a river overflowing,
my eyes close into a dreamy state,
I felt my unhappy soul being lifted,
Like a cocoon breaking into a graceful butterfly gliding briskly away.
