Waiting to be free, Laura Parry

Poem by Laura Parry, Year 8

Ripped wings, torn soul, my life is incomplete
Captured in a doomsday world that juggles me like a ball,

My golden colour had faded over time
My hope along with it as my body
has been battered.
Shiny, glossy coating of mine is well worn and tattered,
So I jump to happiness.
Goodbye woe and misfortune, you can longer control my life
For I, brown battered butterfly, finally escaping,

Looks of disgust, I feel like dust, unimportant and worthless
Farewell, cruel world, I shall never be trapped again!
