Thoughts and reflections

The Marden group enjoyed taking part in the Making Tracks Across Kent project, and felt that they had gained skills and knowledge from the experience.

The group welcomed the opportunity to gain skills, including using original and facsimile documents to research the impact of the South Eastern Railway and summarising the information found.

They enjoyed making the connection between the South Eastern Railway Act of Parliament, and the impact it had on their village, and learning how Marden fitted into the wider picture.  They found it interesting to see how their predecesor community adapted, benefitted from and took advantage of the new developments.
