Q: Are you aware if any Chalk is used in the Weald at all?
A: Not as Chalk but as Lime.
Q: Would it be desirable to have Chalk?
A: The report of the Farmers is that Chalk is the better of the two but the quantity required is too great for it to be used.
Q: Therefore they have lime if then can get it.
A: Yes.
Q: Is there a great quantity of Cattle and Sheep and lambs sent from Tunbridge for the London Market or through it?
