Transcript

came and I got on it, and set off for that place.  It rained the whole of the way from Chatham to Canterbury which is about 26 miles I I think I had my share of it besides some from another Umbrella.  As we approached Canterbury it began to clear up & by the time the Coach set off from Canterbury it was very fine, and I continued so the remainder of the day.  I arrived at Margate about 6 O'Clock in the afternoon.  When I arose next morning it rained very fast and seemed set in for wet, as it certainly proved.  I left Margate at 8 O'Clock for London on board the Steam Boat & we had a very rough Passage, most of the Passengers were ill which was rather unpleasant.  We did not arrive in London till 8 O'Clock in the Evening, consequently quite dark.  There were about 200 Passengers.  I arrived safe in Bow Lane about past 8 O'Clock and quite well.

The Ordination, of which I was telling you of, was on the Wednesday that I came home.  My Father expected me home on the Monday.
