Q: If you had had the opportunity of forwarding the Cargoes by railway the damage to the freight would not have occurred?
A: Certianly but the land carriage is so excessively heavy from there that it would be a total ruination of the thing by land carriage.
Q: That was a very large apple year in Kent in consequence of which you wanted less foreign fruit do you think the County of Kent would contribute a great deal to the supply of the London Market with apples more than it does if it had the opportunity of sending it...
