On Tuesday 19 November, at 2.00pm, the Foreign Affairs Committee will hold an evidence session on the future of the BBC World Service and the relationship between the Service and UK foreign policy.

Business and Trade Committee will question Heidi Alexander, Gareth Thomas and new Post Office Chair Nigel Railton.

The Children’s Commissioner for England, Dame Rachel de Souza, will be questioned by the Education Committee in its first evidence session of the new Parliament. 

The Defence Committee will question the Secretary of State for Defence, Rt. Hon. John Healey, in his first appearance in front of the Committee. The session will take place on Thursday 21 November, at 10.30am.

The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Rt Hon Steve Reed MP, will make his first appearance before the EFRA Committee in a public evidence session on Tuesday 19 November at 2.30pm. 

On 12 November 2024 the Committee considered e-petitions that had received over 100,000 signatures. The Committee also considered e-petitions that had received over 10,000 signatures and received a Government response, and public petitions that had received a Government observation.

The CMS Committee has welcomed Government backing for a levy on arena and stadium concert tickets to support the struggling grassroots music sector but has called for Ministers to set a clear deadline for the industry to act.
