The session is an opportunity for chairs of select committees to question the Prime Minister on matters of public policy

A new inquiry looking at the inner workings of public bodies and how they interact with departments has been launched by the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee (PACAC).

The International Development Committee has endorsed the appointment of the new Chief Commissioner of the Independent Commission on Aid Impact (ICAI) Jillian Popkins, in a report published today.

Commenting on the publication today of the Government’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan Bill Esterson MP, Chair of the House of Commons Energy Security and Net Zero Committee, said:

On 10 December 2024 the Committee considered e-petitions that had received over 100,000 signatures. The Committee also considered e-petitions that had received over 10,000 signatures and received a Government response, and public petitions that had received a Government observation.

MPs on the cross-party Work and Pensions Committee will hear from experts from key think tanks and pensioners’ representatives including Age UK about the state of pensioner poverty in the UK and how it could be reduced.
